I saw this incredible broadway show, The Last 5 Years, and just cannot stop thinking about it. The story follows a couple, Jamie and Cathy, and their five year journey. Sadly, the show is ending its run but there will be a movie adaptation (starring Anna Kendrick!). Of all the people I've spoken to about the show, there seem to be pretty different opinions about what went down in this relationship. The question is, are you Team Jamie or Team Cathy? Spoilers below if you don't want to know about this story!

Movie Trailer: The Bling Ring
As a lover of pop culture and the E! network, naturally I followed the story of the Bling Ring very closely. I even watched the show Pretty Wild that aired on E! for one season that tracked the life of one of the suspects. For those of you who don't know, the Bling Ring was a group of Hollywood kids who broke into celebrities homes and stole their clothes, jewels, bags, etc. They eventually got caught and now they have made a movie about it... with Emma Watson in it nonetheless! The first look came out recently so check out this teaser and get excited.

#HAWMC Day 2 - Introductions
This prompt asked to write 5 things everyone should know about my activism. I'm sick of writing lists (like 5 Things You Need to Know About My Activism). So instead, here's a little timeline about how and why I became involved in fitness and a more active, healthy lifestyle.
2007: I started college. Unlike everyone else I went to school with, I did NOT gain the freshman 15. In fact, I lost 10 pounds thanks to the laxative induced food (seriously I'm convinced the food was laced). I felt good about my body and my life and didn't put much thought behind what I was eating or how little I was physically active (minus dancing at the bars).
2011: January 2011 I weighed myself for the first time in a while and almost shit my pants. I had gained 25 pounds since the start of college and literally wanted to jump out a window. How did this happen? When did this happen? How did I not realize how out of shape I became? I took action immediately and started doing P90X. I completed the 90 day challenge and lost 10-ish pounds.
Summer 2011- Summer 2012: My new outlook on a healthy life went into overdrive. I was working out at least 3 days a week, eating better, and feeling much better about the way I looked and felt.
Summer 2012: I ran my first 5K! This was a HUGE accomplishment and made me feel like I could conquer the world.
Fall 2013: My co-workers convinced me to sign up for the Spartan Race. I don't know how they convinced me to do it, but I did. And told myself that if I could complete the race without throwing up, it would be a huge accomplishment. I bought 30 personal trainer sessions, joined a gym, and was ready to rock and roll.
Winter 2013: Hard breakup. I stopped eating for a week, lost a ton of weight, felt tired, depressed, and shitty about myself.
Today: Bouncing back slowly and re-committed to eating better, working out 2 days a week with my trainer and at least once on my own, and so excited to KILL this race in June.
Being healthy and active is NOT easy. It's so so easy to fall back into bad habits, sitting around all weekend eating cookies and being a lazy ass... but with the right motivation and a supportive group of friends I know I can reach my health and fitness goals and not only finish the Spartan Race, but actually enjoy it too.

Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge
30 Days, 30 Posts
Taking on the Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge as way to get back into blogging and to keep my health goals on track. The Spartan Race is June 2nd and if I don't start eating better and working out 3-5 days a week, I'm going to seriously hurt myself during the race.

April Fools: A Classic Joke Can Be Entertaining
One of the greatest things about being in a relationship is that there is powers in numbers. I love April Fool's Day and last year my boyfriend at the time and I thought it would be fun to leverage the seriousness of Facebook to play a prank. Frankly, we weren't that creative. We were like, "Hey! Why don't we change our relationship status on Facebook to say we are engaged!" So we did. And insanity ensued.

Movie Review: Oz The Great And Powerful
I have finally seen the long awaited Oz The Great and Powerful! This movie has been surrounded by a lot of hype and an all star cast that I was excited to see in a Disney flick. The story was about how the Wizard of Oz came to be the wizard and what he had to do to claim his throne. Overall, I thought it was a good movie. It was beautiful to watch, the overall story was fun, and it kept my attention the whole time. However, I had some major issues with the film:

The Number One Problem With Tinder
Like all single ladies with a smartphone, I recently heard of an app called Tinder. Essentially, the idea is "hot or not" but taking it a step further. If you decide you like someone and think they are attractive, they now have the ability to message you. If they like you back then you are past the first hurdle of wondering if that person is interested or not! There's just one problem with this app so far...

Ways To Motivate Your Fat Self
Are you a girl? Then you probably think you're fat. If you don't think you're fat, you are probably unhappy with your body in some way. If you are not unhappy with your body in some way, then you are a martian and you should stop reading.

The Bachelor Finale

10 Reasons Why Real Life Isn't The Same As Summer Camp
Sleepaway camp was a dream for both us kids and our parents. 2 months away from home where we get to be free! And 2 months away from home where our parents get to be FREE. There really is no down side. Anyone who went to sleepaway camp know that it is a different world. You live in a bubble and then get sent back to the real world with no sense of how to behave in real life. Apparently, some things are only acceptable at camp...

Vince Vaughn. Owen Wilson. Google. Quidditch. Need I go on? Looks the The Internship, coming out this summer, is going to be big laughs. Will it be as funny as Wedding Crashers? That would be a miracle but this still looks like it has potential. Check it out and let me know what you think?

Stop Hooking Up With Your Friends Friends.
It always seems like a good idea at the time. Sometimes you're like, "Hey! I'm drunk. You're cute. My friend is your friend so we have LOTS in common." Other times you're thinking, "WOW, if this works out it could be awesome! One big happy family of friends!" And then there's my favorite, "I probably won't hangout with this person again... right?"
